My paintings are painterly realistic using the pure pigment of soft pastels. This enables me to infuse my art with vivid colors and vibrancy. I am inspired by local Wisconsin landscapes, my travels, pets, floral, and the occasional portrait. Through my artistic expression, I hope to inspire others and to remind myself of the abundance of beauty, hope and love in the world.
I was inspired by the painterly pastel works of the celebrated artist, Alain Picard. After Covid, I discovered his online courses and have studied and participated in his online pastel community, Cultivate, for the past few years. It is through his instruction and guidance I have grown as an artist.
I live in River Falls, Wisconsin where I raised two great kids who both live close by in Minneapolis. My husband and I are both retired and stay busy with ebiking (best invention, ever!), golfing, and hiking. Travel is at the top of the list, too. Painting has become a very enjoyable and fulfilling pursuit!
